The ugliest economic chart you'll see all day
Britain’s overall GDP may be improving, but in productivity terms the gap between where the UK is now and where its international counterparts are continues to widen. Full ONS report on this here [pdf].
PS Phil Aldrick tweets to point out that if you rebased the lines back to 1997 Britain would be a similar level as the rest of the G7. Which reminded me of the below chart from the LSE Growth Commission. On that basis, Britain comes out far better than its other major counterparts.
